Ba Zhen Tang is a traditional TCM formula that is used to replenish Qi and blood to alleviate symptoms such as fatigue, pale complexion, anaemia, anxiety, heart palpitations, poor mental functions, and light-headedness. It is commonly known as a blood tonic for women in improving irregular periods, alleviating period pain, and replenishing blood. However, Ba Zhen Tang can also be used by men to restore balance and vitality.
Recommendation:
For ladies, it is generally recommended to take Ba Zhen Tang two days after their period has ended. As Ba Zhen Tang has similar benefits as Bak Foong Pill (Bai Feng Wan), it is recommended to consume them on separate days.

Preparation:
Rinse herbs before use. Put the herbs, 300-500g of meat, and 1.5 litres of water into a pot (ensure water is sufficient to cover the ingredients). Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours. Serve it warm.

In TCM, Qi and blood formation are supported by healthy digestion and absorption of nutrients — which are governed by the spleen and stomach. Overworking, irregular eating, poor dietary habits such as consuming cold or raw foods, and stress can weaken the spleen, thereby affecting Qi and blood.
Having a good flow of Qi and blood is vital in promoting good health. It is believed that blood and Qi are closely linked — blood produces Qi and Qi promotes blood circulation. When there is blood deficiency in the body, it may manifest physically as a pale complexion, heart palpitations, headache, dizziness and breathlessness. Blood deficiency in the heart may also lead to sleep issues such as insomnia and dream-disturbed sleep.
